Set The Score
Formed in 2013, Set The Score are a Pop-Punk band from the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
The band have released two EP's to date; 2015's 'Render Me Useless' and 2016's 'Where We Sit'.
The releases have allowed the band to support the likes of As It Is (UK), Real Friends (USA), Short Stack, The Wonder Years (USA), Moose Blood (UK), Mayday Parade (USA), With Confidence and many more. They have embarked on two national tours; a co-headline run with Eat Your Heart Out in 2015, and a support slot with Queensland's Kings At Heart.
2017 will see the band release their new single 'Homebound', accompanied by a music video produced and directed by Kieran Ellis-Jones of Crystal Arrow Films, as well as more touring later in the year.
The concept for Homebound, first came from vocalist David Bell who shares his experiences in the song and uses it to achieve some closure.
"Lyrically Homebound is about my experiences with someone that I shared my whole life, who chose to go down the path of drugs and the influence they had over me," said vocalist, David Bell.
For the rest of the band, Homebound is a more technical fete; using their distance from the source to sculpt the perfect song structure for Set the Score's style.
"Instrumentally, I wanted Homebound to nail all the basics of song structure and song writing," said guitarist, Matt Van Duppen.
"It's got the intro that sets the feel of the track right from the start, the catchy chorus melodies, the interesting bridge, and we've made sure it all gels together. I think we've done that," said drummer, Adam Pinzone.
Homebound is the first released we've heard from Set the Score since their sophomore EP 'Where We Sit' released in 2016 which saw them open for massive, international touring bands including Real Friends, The Wonder Years, Moose Blood and Mayday Parade.
